Prospective Students

We are always interested in recruiting team members to help us with our research!  Students with interests in developmental psychopathology, clinical science, and biological processes related to behavior are generally good fits for this lab.  The Iowa ADHD and Development lab is committed to advancing equity, inclusion, and diversity in our discipline at all levels.  Our lab welcomes students from all backgrounds and we are committed to identifying future scholars and clinicians and nuturing their academic and professional development.

Prospective Graduate Students: Note - Dr. Nikolas is not recruiting a graduate student for Fall 2024, but will be recruiting for Fall 2025.  If you are a prospective graduate student for the Clinical Science Ph.D. program, click here for more information about applying to work with Dr. Nikolas and the program.  Students with interests in biological processes, intensive longitudinal sampling, and ADHD and comorbid psychopathology in adolescence and emerging adulthood are especially encouraged to apply.

Prospective Undergraduate Students:  The lab welcomes students in psychological and brain sciences and related disciplines who are interested in obtaining research experience prior to graduate school.  While many of our RAs have gone onto PhD programs in clinical psychology, counseling psychology, and school psychology, we have lab alumni who have pursued advanced degrees and training in a wide variety of fields, including medicine, pharmacy, social work, school counseling, genetic counseling, occupational therapy, public health, child life services, nursing, and education.  Click here for more information on how to join the lab!
